TELN Debuts with Body Language: Two Decades of Underground Incubation

The Origins: 2004 to Present

Ideas in electronic music rarely follow a straight line. For German producer Markus, born in 1985, the groundwork for TELN started twenty years ago. Since 2004, concepts and sonic sketches sat in the dark, shaped by two distinct worlds: the peak-hour grit of Berlin's early Loveparade and the distorted punch of heavy guitar records. Instead of rushing early ideas out the door, Markus let the aesthetic sit and mature, slowly sharpening the edge where mechanical grit meets organic movement.

TELN is the result of that long, patient wait. The project takes the raw framework of UK Tech House and strips away the commercial gloss, focusing instead on real club tools made for running, sharp focus, and late hours on the floor.

Sonic Profile and Production Framework

'Body Language' marks the baseline for what TELN is building. Locked in at a steady 126 BPM, the track skips filler and gets straight to a tight, functional arrangement built for dark rooms and heavy stacks.

Key structural elements include:

  • Rhythmic Foundation: A driving, low-end bassline tuned to keep momentum moving and push serious low-frequency air through modern rigs.

  • Vocal Tracking: Dry, close-mic vocals placed right up front, cutting straight through the deep low end.

  • Arrangement: Hypnotic loops that build tension through quiet filter shifts and minimal synth distraction, locked into the physical energy of a packed floor.

Purpose and Resource Allocation

Beyond the sound itself, TELN runs on a clear financial pledge. 100% of the cash generated by 'Body Language' goes directly to Mission Blue to fund ocean conservation efforts.
