On Deck: FUCH$EY BABY - PERFECT

Canadian artist Cole Fuchs, writing under the moniker FUCH$EY BABY, gets straight to the point on his single 'PERFECT'. Tracking the vocals at home with a basic Audio-Technica AT2020 setup, the song deals with the messy fallout of a heartbreak and the realization that a relationship was too good to be true. Underneath, a steady, melodic beat from PEJ Beats drives the track forward, letting the vocals stay grounded without relying on studio tricks.

Fuchs actually built the entire song around a heavy, tongue-in-cheek line comparing his ex's physical presence to a classic Buick LeSabre, bringing a bit of dry humor to an otherwise heavy theme. It captures that exact, awkward tension of spotting a former partner in a crowded club and mutually agreeing to act like total strangers. It is a simple, home-grown release that relies on raw sentiment rather than clean polish.
