Astral Gaze Cut Raw Djent Riffs on 'Rescue Me'
Tracked and mixed inside a Dubai home setup, the duo puts down-tuned rhythm work against wide shoegaze space and an unpolished chorus.

Dubai duo Astral Gaze keep their second single 'Rescue Me' firmly rooted in a home-studio workflow, handling guitar tracking, vocal cuts, and the final mix entirely in-house. Guitarist Phil Currie and singer Aaron Zarir Wadia leave out the sterile, sample-replaced polish common in modern metalcore, letting the down-tuned djent rhythms hit with natural low-end punch. The riffs stay heavy and dry, locked tight against cold ambient synth beds rather than over-layered digital effects.
Wadia's vocal delivery drops the studio pitch correction, moving from a tense, claustrophobic verse into a soaring, open chorus that trades radio shine for raw urgency. Drawing cues from bands like Tesseract and The Contortionist, the track balances technical palm-muted patterns with floating shoegaze layers, but keeps the song structure lean and direct. It sounds like an unvarnished room recording meant to hit hard without corporate studio tricks.
